The economic crisis had a huge impact on the liquidators, retailers and wholesale suppliers. From large corporations to small ones, every one is struggling and trying to sell their product. It is a universal truth that life has changes and diversities, though many people don’t like to change but nobody can run from the reality.

If you know how to make the upcoming changes good for you, so that you can gain the benefits, then you can ride the tides of changes even when its difficult economically.
People who accept the changes in business and move on are the winners. Here I will discuss with you some changing tides in the liquidation industries and what necessary steps you can take as a wholesale liquidator or surplus liquidator to ride the “changing tides” so that you can have profit in your pocket even in difficult economic times.
The two biggest reclamation centers in U.S. purchased Macy’s Department Stores in 2005. Almost 90 stores were shuttered by the combined company and they increased focus on in-store brands instead of mass-market labels. Meanwhile, middle market retailers like J.C Penny Co. and Kohl’s Corp. were demanding exclusive brands which were not found elsewhere.
You might be thinking so what?
Well that was an important step which they took, because these stores all liquidate their surplus, closeouts, salvage and liquidation and merchandise in all categories through major reclamation centers. Those are the same places from where wholesale liquidators, surplus and liquidation dealers take this same merchandised form.
So what does it mean if the big retail companies start looking for exclusive brands and ignore the generic items. That means if you can get the items and know from where to get them then you will have the exclusive products to sale.
For instance, lets say if the Craftsman tool company restrict the sale of their secondary items in United States but they allow their liquidators to export them. Imagine if you are the person who hold the Craftsman tools and were a supplier to a global market. At the end, you will hold the global market of certain items.
When you will be having hold over the exclusive line of merchandise which people want, and that item can be purchased only from a certain retail store, you will get the big profit in your pocket.
Its the main formula that these retail stores liquidate their secondary product merchandise to these major reclamation centers and then reclamation centers sells them to surplus dealers who at the end sell to you but with a higher markup.
There are two simple tips which I will share with you about surviving and profiting in difficult economic times with liquidations, wholesale merchandise, closeouts merchandise and other types of liquidation surplus products.
Here are the tips:
-
Always keep one thing in mind that when the economy is having difficult time, then you are also having low buying ability. Till the time retail stores are in the business there will always be a secondary market for products. Main thing in such conditions is that to buy only those necessities which people mostly wants. You buy such items in large amount and then resell it for lower costs to bargain seeking consumers.
-
Other necessary thing is that currently we are having a global economy. And it’s easy to access the market with a strong online presence.
Always try to get the items directly from the source if you want to gain the profit. That will be better for you to pass by the middle man and buy directly from the main source.
